A note from Perth Manor Boutique Hotel regarding COVID-19

Latest Update, July 15, 2021:  As an essential service, Perth Manor has been open the entire time.  As of July 16 we are now in Step 3 of the Provincial Reopening!  This means we are now able to serve breakfast in our Tapestry Dining Room as well as on The Terrace, and we have our Conservatory Bar Services available both on The Terrace as well as in the bar area itself.

Our terrace is open for breakfast service by reservation when weather permits.  Our Tapestry Dining Room will now be open daily, also by reservation in order to facilitate distancing and avoiding all guests arriving at the same time.  When you check-in, we will confirm a reservation time with you.  Please note now that our dining room is open, we no longer provide breakfast service to your room.  

Our Conservatory Bar services are available on The Terrace weather permitting, in the Conservatory Bar, or to your room.  As always you are welcome to have your own alcoholic beverages but ONLY in your guest room as all other areas are licensed and alcohol must be purchased from us and served by our staff in accordance with our liquor license.   

Downtown shops are open; most do still provide curb side pick-up.  Restaurants and their patios are open, most also have take-out/curb-side pick-up service available.  You are welcome to eat your take-out meal on our terrace when weather permits, we are happy to provide proper plates and cutlery so that you are not eating out of cardboard containers!   Please note the same rules apply for us as restaurants without limits to numbers of people at each table, however our tables really only seat a maximum of 5.

Many town operated facilities:  the museum, public swimming pool, library, town hall, are reopening!  Please check their website(s) for most up to date information as some of their facilities are are just re-staffing.  The tourism section of the museum is OPEN, and the museum is now offering modified tours.  In addition to many unique downtown shops, there are beautiful parks and several fantastic hiking/cycling locations to explore-be sure to ask about maps, we have all kinds to share!  Please do not hesitate to ask us for clarification of services available – if we don’t know for certain, we will find out for you!  Town officials have told us they are hoping to resume walking tours – check with the museum for more information!  Also check back here for more updates or give us a call!

Here at Perth Manor your safety is our primary concern.  In Step 3, masks/face coverings are still required (please wear them appropriately covering your nose, mouth and chin) as you enter the building and when moving through the common areas of the building.  Please note, even if you are double vaccinated, a mask in public areas is still required.  If you are unable to wear a mask due to a medical condition, we ask that you wear a face shield.  Once you are seated for breakfast either on the terrace or in the dining room, or are seated at The Bar,  then you can remove your mask.

When you arrive, you will be asked to sign a COVID-19 contact tracing form which includes general screening questions, in addition to the usual registration card, using our disinfected pen or your own pen if you prefer!  This form is kept, as required, for a minimum of 30 days.  If you have visitors coming to see you in your guest room, please note they MUST sign in with us and sign the COVID-19 contact tracing form and of course wear a properly fitting mask/face shield.  If they are unwilling to sign the form or wear a mask, they will not be permitted to stay either inside or out on the terrace – we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

We have increased our already high standards for cleanliness!  We are frequently cleaning and sanitizing high traffic areas with government approved COVID-19 disinfectants and cleaners.  Wipes and hand sanitizer are available on the front desk for guest use at all times – we encourage you to use them every time you enter or leave the building and before entering the dining room/terrace for breakfast.  There is also hand sanitizer on the table on the landing at the top of the stairs by guest rooms.

Everything in your room is sanitized/disinfected:  from door handles, to light switches, telephones to pens, bedspreads to bathrooms and everything in between.   As always, linens are sanitized in high-temperature wash.  Room windows are opened and the room is ‘aired out’ after each guest check-out.

We are a Boutique Hotel with only 6 rooms and suites – with guest co-operation physical distancing is easy to accomplish even when we are sold out. 

We serve breakfast ‘restaurant-style’ with each guest room at their own table either in our dining room or on the terrace weather permitting, with tables physically distanced.  We take reservations for breakfast to avoid more than one room of guests arriving in the dining room at the same time.  Your breakfast selection from our menu is made fresh to order and we serve wearing a mask and eye protection.  As always, all dishes, glassware and flatware is hand washed and then heat sterilized.  All food preparation is in in accordance with health and safety regulations in our Health Unit inspected kitchen.

Our staff are important to us, too!  They wear masks at all times in public areas and while cleaning.  Each day before work they adhere to the Province of Ontario COVID-19 Screening in the Workplace requirements.  They are provided with appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and hand sanitizer and are required to wash their hands frequently.  They wear gloves when appropriate and change gloves before entering the next guest room.
